Layers of participation
Core software defines rules. Validators process and vote on activity. RPC services make data and submission accessible. Applications package interactions for specific communities. Researchers and journalists provide interpretation.
These layers are related but not interchangeable. An application interface is not the protocol, and a public dashboard is not the complete network.
